WWPetaD?

So, I was thinking this morning that we should do something fun today and take some pictures to post since we haven't done much lately that is picture worthy. I swear I had barely completed the thought when I opened the bathroom door to see Miss Kati kind of waddling up the hallway toward me wearing a doll dress and a braclet around her little face as a tiara. Ava was BEAMING at her creation!
I can't imagine anyone loving a kitten more than Miss Ava loves her Kati kitty. I'm just not so sure the way she loves her would be considered ethical treatment. Miss Kati seems a bit...disgruntled?

Low Self-Esteem? Never Heard Of Such A Thing...

This morning Miss King was complaining to her dad that her nose would not stop running. He suggested that she go blow it, to which she replied that she would not want to get snot on her beautiful face!

Ava's Inquiring Mind

The other day in the car, out of nowhere,
Ava asked if her dad and I would be older
when she was a grown up.
I love my little thinker.

Sparkle and Fade

Listen.
I love glitter as much as the next girl, however, this was a rough week in the sticky sparkle division around the King household.

MONDAY
There was no school or childcare on the 19th due to the MLK holiday. I had to take a nap before work and was going to have Ava take one too, but she wasn't cooperating. I relented and said she could stay in the livingroom and watch her shows while I napped.
Apparently TV wasn't holding my little darling's interest and she decided to work on an art project. She removed the lid from the glitter glue bottle and smeared it all over some 4x8 cards to make "birthday cards" for some friends. She "forgot" that there were a few spills and when I discovered them and started peeling the cards up that were glued to the table- not taking care or acknowledging that they were still works in progress- Ava burst into tears and stormed out of the room with a resounding "WHAT! EVER!"
Hmmm...I felt as though I was the one who should've been screaming...

TUESDAY
With my new work schedule begining this week, I thought we would try something new. Instead of sending Ava to STAR before and after school, I was going to let her stay home before school to play with Kati and hang out while I slept for a few hours. Then I would wake up, get her dressed, take her to school and return home to finish sleeping while she was at school and STAR.
I gave her specific instructions. No glue, no scissors, no nail polish, no...lotion.
I thought that about covered it.
And then I awoke to this...

GLITTER GEL GAFFE

Yup, thats a good two thirds of a tube of Sleeping Beauty glitter gel mashed into the top of her hair.
HAIR GEL!
THAT ONE NEVER EVEN OCCURED TO ME...
Guess who attends the STAR program before school again?
