Immortal Inspiration

This image is from a book about the human body (the section on blood) and has always fascinated Miss King.

Ghoul, Ghoul, what do you see?
I see Frankenstein inching toward at me.

Frankenstein, Frankenstein, what do you see?
I see a Skeleton dragging toward at me.
Skeleton, Skeleton, what do you see?
I see a Troll hiding by a tree.
Troll, Troll, what do you see?
I see a Mummy lurking toward me.
Mummy, Mummy, what do you see?
I see a Witchy Witch flying over me.
Witchy Witch, Witchy Witch, what do you see?
I see a Vampire sneaking up on me.
Vampire, Vampire, what do you see?
I see a Werewolf lunging at me.

Werewolf, Werewolf, what do you see?
I see a Spider creeping toward me.
Spider, Spider, what do you see?
I see a BIG SHOE COMING DOWN ON ME!

My Only Child's Siblings

The girl we know as Ava is actually Maryann.
Maryann's older sister is named Ava.
She also has a baby sister named Kayla.
Maryann frequently asks for a brother,
and though we would all like a boy in the family,
I have a hard time keeping track of the imaginary
who-is-who as it is!

A Family Tradition

***
Hil and I come from a tradition of no traditions.
Family portraits - what are those?
That may explain, in part, my fondness for picture taking.

Starting way back in junior high, when my cousin Alyson would visit from Santa Cruz, we would take strip after strip of pictures in the photo booth at Woolworths. We also spent a little time and a few coins in the picture booths at the Boardwalk when I would visit her. I need to track down my portion of those memories.

One year not so long ago, Hilary, Lauren and I took some "family portraits" in a photo booth at the State Fair to give to our parents. Since then, that has been my reason for attending the fair year after year. I'll hunt for those, too.

Based on this year's results, I have a feeling our children might not carry on our State Fair photo booth tradition.
