Small Miracle

Miss Kati Kitty went missing Sunday evening.
At some point she had slipped outside undetected.
The nature area across from our house is full of hungry wildlife.
The prospect of having to tell Ava that her kitten was gone was awful.
Since we went out of town on Monday, we just tried to keep her distracted so she wouldn't realize Kati wasn't around that morning.
Tuesday morning, however, I decided to break the news to her.
The sadness in her little face was heartbreaking.
We decided to put some "MISSING" posters on neighborhood mailboxes.
When we returned home from the gym tonight there was a message from a neighbor that Kati was at their house!
And now she is home, being smothered with love by a VERY happy little girl.

Curiosity -vs- Kati Kitty

*
Oh, our curious kitten!

She received her first bath today

because

she jumped into an open toilet-

before
it
had
been
flushed

First Date

*
Wednesday morning Ava put on her tinkerbell tank top (which looked like a very short dress), her easter shoes (sans socks), her tiara, and half a tube of lipgloss.

I asked her what she was getting all dressed up for and she said that she and Ian were going out for a dinner date.

I asked her what they planned on eating.

"Macaroni and chips."

That Ian is a smooth operator. If he breaks out a bag of marshmallows, she will be putty in his hands.

Thank heaven we have a few years to prepare for her real first date.
