A Family Tradition

***
Hil and I come from a tradition of no traditions.
Family portraits - what are those?
That may explain, in part, my fondness for picture taking.

Starting way back in junior high, when my cousin Alyson would visit from Santa Cruz, we would take strip after strip of pictures in the photo booth at Woolworths. We also spent a little time and a few coins in the picture booths at the Boardwalk when I would visit her. I need to track down my portion of those memories.

One year not so long ago, Hilary, Lauren and I took some "family portraits" in a photo booth at the State Fair to give to our parents. Since then, that has been my reason for attending the fair year after year. I'll hunt for those, too.

Based on this year's results, I have a feeling our children might not carry on our State Fair photo booth tradition.

Lap Dog

Our 60 pound dog thinks he weighs 16 pounds.

A Fish That Stands?

Yep, stands on her hands.

Lift Your Lighter & Sway...

As I sat in a classroom full of 9-1-1 dispatchers for a course in critical incident stress "debriefing" and occupational stress management, the instructor SERENADED us - not once, but two times in as many days.
I immortalized a few bars to share with you.

Good karma, my friend.
Good karma to you.

Enjoy.

BECAUSE YOU CARE...
BECAUSE YOU'RE THERE...
MY WORLD IS NOT SO BAD...

P.S. Notes on the notes:

"TOBY" was the name of a cat in one of her anecdotes.
It was also the name of a child in another.
Just who is Toby?

Figurative BACKPACKS are used to collect and carry around our burdens.
We fill our TOOLBOXES with useful tricks.
I'm at a loss for the purpose of the symbolic LUNCHBOX.
