The Longest Line I've EVER Seen
Last Saturday morning I went out to the Folsom Automall to stand in line with about 10,000 other folks to try to get on the gameshow Deal or No Deal. I arrived at 9:30ish in the morning after about 8,000 people had already lined up. They were going to give each person 15 seconds to tell their representatives why they should pick them to be on the show.
I went to the Dodge dealership a week earlier and registered for a CHANCE to be picked to skip to the head of the line. My name was actually picked out of about 1000! Did you hear me scream??
Once inside, I tried to channel my inner cheerleader, but it wasn't enough. I just couldn't muster enough wacky, unbridled enthusiasm to get myself selected as a contestant. My hopes had been dashed by 10:45 am.
A coworker of mine stood in line from 7:00 am until about 2:00 pm, so I was VERY fortunate to have been able to get in and out so quickly.
Alas. I had big plans for that $1 million.
